Athletics Trust Scotland is delighted to launch the inaugural Alford Santa Run that will take place on Sunday 12th December 2021 at the Grampian Transport Museum in Alford. The races will feature a Children’s Elf Mile at 9am which will consist of 4 laps of the motor race track and also a Santa Run 5k from 9.30am which will head out into the grounds of Haughton Park before finishing with a victory lap of the track.
Event Organiser Kyle Greig said “The funds raised from the event will go towards supporting up and coming athletes who require much needed support to get them to the next level of the sport. Unfortunately, there are many athletes who have the potential to excel in athletics but may not fit into a certain category due to disability, mental health or growing up in poverty. This is where ATS intends on filling the gap, providing those who most need our support with the opportunity to reach the next level”.
He also said “With all the challenges and heartbreak during Covid-19 we want to bring everyone in the local community together in a relaxed, safe and unique setting be it from the first timer to the experienced runner.”
