Athletics Trust Scotland (ATS) are now title sponsors for our National Academy.
The performance development programme was set up more than ten years ago in 2013 and has a strong record of helping young Scots make the bridge from promising Juniors to successful Seniors.
Supporting our National Athletics Academy for a number of years were our sponsors 4J Studios. The company also back the outdoor track and field season, the Indoor Season, and the 4J Annual Awards.
Now Athletics Trust Scotland will support the programme which is therefore now titled the ATS National Academy.
Look out for news over the next few weeks about a new intake for the ATS National Academy.
The aims of The ATS National Athletics Academy are:
- Improved retention rate of our best age group athletes into the Senior ranks
- Increased representation on Great Britain (GB) U18, U20 and U23 teams enroute to Commonwealth Games (CWG) and beyond
- Increased representation on GB Senior teams and GB Performance Programme
- Greater number of young athletes on future CWG teams and beyond
Chair of Athletics Trust Scotland, Graeme Jack, said:
“Athletics Trust Scotland aims to transform lives and enabling top emerging talent to reach their potential within the ATS National Academy, is doing just that,
“We look forward to following the journeys of these talented young people and wish to thank 4J Studios for their support in the programme over the last few years.”
